1 of 3 Suspects Charged in Abingdon Break-Ins: Harford Sheriff

Tips from citizens led to the identification of the suspects, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

Police have charged one suspect, and charges are pending against two others, in connection with numerous vehicle break-ins in Abingdon, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.

Aaron Cooper Starrs, 19, of Kennett Square, PA, has been charged with multiple counts of theft, credit card fraud, theft scheme and rogue and vagabond, the sheriff's office said.

Similar charges are pending against two Bel Air men—one 21-year-old and a 22-year-old—who have left the area, the sheriff's office reported.

The trio is suspected in a series of vehicle break-ins between March 8 and 14 in various Abingdon communities, according to the sheriff's office. Wallets, purses and credit cards were stolen from the vehicles, then cards were fraudulently used to make purchases, the sheriff's office reported.

The suspects were identified through tips submitted to Harford County Crime Solvers after their photos were made public, according to the report.

Detectives thanked those who called in with information and said without tips from citizens, many cases would go unsolved.

Anyone with information or questions may contact Detective Michael Yeagy at 443-409-3420.
