Abingdon Firefighters Rescue Ducklings From Storm Drain

The ducklings were discovered Tuesday night outside a storage facility.

Volunteer firefighters rescued 11 ducklings from a storm drain Tuesday night.

Volunteers at Abingdon Fire Company received a call from Stack and Store at Emmorton Business Park in the 2100 block of Emmorton Park Drive around 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to Abingdon EMT Dan McKinney.

McKinney said in an email that firefighters found the ducklings trapped in the storm drain. Crews removed the drain's cover, recovered the ducklings, and released them in a nearby pond.
