Alleged Shooter Apprehended In Abingdon

One man is charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting earlier this week.

An alleged gunman has been arrested and charged  in connection with a shooting on Monday in Edgewood that left one person injured.

Neal Aaron Turner,  with addresses in the 1800 block of Brookside Drive in Edgewood and the 2400 block of East Fayette Street in Baltimore, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon without incident, according to the . Turner,  who turns 27 on Friday, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and use of a firearm in a felony or violent crime. 

The charges stem from in the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood.

Deputies said they were called to the the Edgewood address around 4:15 p.m. after gunshots were fired in the area. When they arrived, deputies said they found Emmanuel Obguli, 22, of the 1800 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.

Investigators said they believe Obguli and Turner were involved in an argument that turned violent and involved several other people. Obguli was flown by medevac helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Obguli was in critical condition Tuesday. An updated status for Obguli was unavailable Thursday.
