A Bel Air man has been charged with attempted murder in an attempted break-in and stabbing in the Village of Thomas Run neighborhood during the weekend.
Sean Michael Certeza, 24, of the 1800 block of Oxford Square in Bel Air, was arrested and charged on Nov. 20 with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and a weapon charge.
The charges stem from an incident early Sunday, Nov. 18.
Around 6:15 a.m., a woman living in the 1800 block of Glendale Lane told her husband she heard noises in the basement of their townhome, according to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The husband then went to the basement, where he saw someone outside the basement door, police said.
The resident went upstairs, got a baseball bat, then went to the backyard and confronted the other man, hitting him with the bat, according to police.
The two men struggled on the ground and the suspected burglar cut the resident in the shoulder, police said.
That night police brought Certeza in for questioning and he confessed to the attempted break in and assault, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies later searched his home and found evidence linking him to the crime.
Certeza lives in the same neighborhood as the victims. He was being held at the Harford County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon in lieu of $300,000 bail.
(No, this is a collection of people that Sean has noticeably rubbed off on and we all know the kid is dick.) This is NOT a place to poste(sp*) peoples names and addresses. (True, but hundreds if not thousands of kids have been to this kids house over the years. And at his moms house as well before that.) Many lives have been afftected here and they need a little respect and kind words, Not harsh nasty words. (I know kids that Sean has robbed, bullied and pushed around in the past. Girls too that he has taken advantage of, not to make a attempt to diminish the feelings that his mom might be going through, but sean did need someone to shake him up. Maybe shout some negative things in his face to make him change how he felt.) "Ever think that maybe both families need prayers! Even the person that did the crime should receive prayers." (No only the gentlemen that was attacked by sean deserves "prayers") "NO one on here knows the entire story" (Mam, and i know this is a woman. You have no idea) "and therefore should keep their personal comments to themself!" (Im glad hes in jail, this is like seeing the village oaf in the stockades and now we can throw fruit at him and recognize him for the filth he is.) Let me be the first to offer my prayers to EVERYONE involved!
A trend is a trend until it ends. This one is headed for conclusion..
Guy attempts to break into someones home but is discovered by the homeowner who clubs the perp with a baseball bat. Bandit then pulls a weapon, a knife, and slices the homeowner. And the guilty party in your mind is the homeowner attempting to protect his home and family? I understand the problem much better now. People like you are the problem. With that logic, your day will come.
