Arson Suspected in Monday's Edgewood Fire

The fire caused about $160,000 damage to the split-level home.

A fire inside an Edgewood home on Monday may have been the result of arson, state fire officials say.

Shortly before 8 a.m., a neighbor noticed a fire inside a two-story, split-level home in the 800 block of Fisherman Lane, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Harford County Fire & EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner noted in a post on the organization's Facebook page that crews from Joppa, Abingdon, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Bel Air, White Marsh, Fallston and Kingsville responded to the fire.

The fire caused about $160,000 in damage to the building, according to the release.

Investigators with the fire marshal's office believe the blaze was intentionally set inside, on the lower level of the home.
