Bel Air Man Charged in Child Pornography Case

Maryland State Police and the FBI tracked the man's activity from Oklahoma.

A man living in Brentwood Park was charged with 11 counts of possessing child pornography, Maryland State Police said.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack arrested Walter Edward Aycock, 61, of the 900 block of Winters Court, Friday morning, according to police.

Police said that an FBI agent in Oklahoma noticed someone sharing child pornography on a file-sharing network in February 2013. The FBI in Baltimore continued the investigation, which police said resulted in a search warrant to inspect Aycock's residence.

Investigators from the FBI Digital Analysis Research Center forensically examined the computers from the residence and recovered photographs depicting children involved in various sexual activities, police said.

After a Harford County grand jury indicted Aycock, Bel Air troopers were issued an arrest warrant, according to police. Aycock was reportedly awaiting his initial appearance in front of a court commissioner Friday morning.

If he is convicted, Aycock could be sentenced to up to 55 years in prison and/or fined up to $27,500, Maryland State Police said.
