Bel Air Man Charged with Attempted Murder of Neighbor

The incident took place in the 1900 block of Calvary Road.

A 49-year-old Bel Air man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and attempted first-degree assault after allegedly firing a shotgun at his neighbor.

According to a police report, Henry H. Harjes III of the 1900 block of Calvary Road arrived at his home at about 6 p.m. Saturday when his neighbor walked over and confronted Harjes about his driving habits.

Harjes then entered his garage and came back out with a shotgun, according to police. Harjes’s neighbor told police he felt projectiles hitting the ground near him as he ran away. The neighbor was not injured.

Harjes is being held at the Harford County Detention Center.
