Body of Missing Boater Recovered from Bush River

Kamhou Zairavong's body was found Tuesday.

The body of an Edgewood man who was recovered Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The body of missing boater Kamhou Zairavong, 35, was recovered around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday after days of searching, according to a release from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police. The body was recovered from the Bush River near where he was last seen swimming.

On Sunday, Zairavong and a friend were boating on the Bush River when they got into the water for a swim, according to the release.

Crews responded at about 8:25 p.m. after the boaters were reported in distress in the water near Park Beach Drive.

Zairavong's friend was rescued from the water that night, while Zairavong remained missing after being swept away by a current, according to and DNR police.

Sunday’s search included crews from Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Company, Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Company, Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, Susquehanna Hose Company, the Harford County Technical Rescue Team, U.S Coast Guard, Maryland State Police and Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy.
