Bystanders reported a shooting outside Burger King in Bel Air Monday evening, but police later learned the weapon involved was a BB gun, not a handgun.
Around 6:15 p.m. several people contacted Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack to report a shooting outside Burger King, located at 2110 Emmorton Road, according to a release from state police.
Troopers and deputies with the Harford County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene a short time later and canvassed the area.
No one was injured, and investigators found no physical evidence of shell casings or property damage at the location, the release states.
Police said they learned a group of juveniles was in the parking lot at the time of the reported shooting, among them a 17-year-old Abingdon boy.
The teen allegedly fired several shots from a BB gun out of a car at another vehicle filled with young people he knew, according to the release.
Charges are pending in the case, according to state police.
