Burger King BB Gun Shooting Prompts Charges

No injuries were reported as a result of the Bel Air incident.

Bystanders reported a shooting outside Burger King in Bel Air Monday evening, but police later learned the weapon involved was a BB gun, not a handgun.

Around 6:15 p.m. several people contacted Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack to report a shooting outside Burger King, located at 2110 Emmorton Road, according to a release from state police.

Troopers and deputies with the Harford County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene a short time later and canvassed the area.

No one was injured, and investigators found no physical evidence of shell casings or property damage at the location, the release states.

Police said they learned a group of juveniles was in the parking lot at the time of the reported shooting, among them a 17-year-old Abingdon boy.

The teen allegedly fired several shots from a BB gun out of a car at another vehicle filled with young people he knew, according to the release.

Charges are pending in the case, according to state police.

Ahhhh Blackbird, I don't necessarily appreciate your tone on the message board. Name calling is merely a weak mind trying to express itself.

Kathys10, this is a classic example of a run on sentence.

Not appologizing for the tone. Not a weak mind either, just tired of everybody crying assult weapons & blaming everything on products & others instead of owning some responsibility for educating themselves & THEIR CHILDREN about the use ,or non-use of firearms. Too many people out here don't instill any discipline (Training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces moral or mental improvement ) into their children. This too often results in a lack of respect for many things. Have a nice day :-)

Very well said, Blackbird; and see, you can say it w/o the name calling.....although, I do seriously get your frustration. Teaching discipline and dropping name calling will result in exceptional children. Children learn what they live. Peace.
