Cab Driver Stabbed In Bel Air

The stabbing victim was listed in serious condition Saturday morning.

UPDATE (2:32 p.m.)— An Aberdeen man was in serious condition Saturday morning after he was stabbed in the Bel Air during the early morning hours.

Harford County sheriff's deputies were called to the area of Crescent Knoll Drive and Fountain Green Road in Bel Air around 1:35 a.m. after an ABC Cab Company driver was robbed and stabbed, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

The driver, Robert E. Donley, age 53, of Aberdeen, picked up a customer in the 1600 block of Chester Way Court in Bel Air, according to the sheriff's office.

Once the cab arrived in the area of Crescent Knoll Drive, the passenger demanded the driver's money then stabbed Donley in the upper torso.

Donley was initially taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He was later transfered to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was listed in serious condition Saturday around 10 a.m., according to a sheriff's office spokeswoman.

The robber is described as a white man in his twenties wearing all black and a black hooded sweatshirt.
