Car Crashes Into Deer Creek, Injures 1

The car started to leak fluids into the water, drawing hazmat response to Rock State Park.

A car crashed into Deer Creek in Rock State Park sending one woman to a local hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 3:25 p.m. a white car crashed into water in Rock State Park in the area of Coen Road, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The vehicle ultimately overturned onto its roof in the waterway.

One woman was taken by land to a regional trauma center for treatment, Gardiner said.

Fluids from the car started seeping into the water and a Harford County Hazmat Team responded to clean up the spill, Gardiner said.

Traffic was being deferred onto Coen Road shortly before 4:30 p.m.
