Car Overturns in Joppa, Lands in Water, Traps 1

The patient was flown by medevac helicopter to a regional trauma center for treatment.

UPDATE: (12:23 p.m.)—A car went over an embankment before overturning off Winters Run Road in Joppa late Wednesday morning, injuring the driver.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 5, a car drove over an embankment along Winters Run Road south of Singer Road and landed on its roof in water, according to a release from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

Crews from Joppa-Magnolia and the Harford County Technical Rescue Team worked to get the driver free from the car, the release states. The patient is described as an adult man in serious condition.

A medevac helicopter was called in to transport the driver to a regional trauma center for treatment. The helicopter was scheduled to land at Abingdon Elementary School, but instead landed on Winters Run Road closer to the scene.

Singer and Winters Run roads were both closed to traffic as a result of the accident.
