Churchville Road Transformer Fire Turns off Traffic Signals

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company is responding to the incident.

UPDATE (5:38 p.m.)—A transformer fire—since extinguished—in the 1700 block of Churchville Road has shut down a pair of traffic signals.

The lights at Maryland Route 22 and 543 and Prospect Mill Road and Route 22 are both out, according to a dispatcher for the Maryland State Police.

The State Highway Administration is on its way to the intersections for repairs.
