Court Appearance Canceled in Teen Rape Case

The pretrial conference was canceled. The trial for the 16-year-old is scheduled for March 8.

The 16-year-old Abingdon boy charged as an adult with allegedly raping a 14-year-old fellow Patterson Mill High School student was expected to appear in Harford County Circuit Court on Thursday, but the court appearance was canceled.

Kyle Burnett Reddish, of the 200 block of Kensington Parkway, had a pretrial conference scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. in Harford County Circuit Court, according to court records.

The proceeding was canceled on the grounds that further study of the case was required from lawyers on both sides of the case.

Reddish, who was the kicker for the Patterson Mill football team, was indicted on two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sex offense and single counts of third- and fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and unnatural or perverted practice, court records show.

The case stems from an alleged incident in September that reportedly took place in the girl's home one night after Reddish kicked the game winning field goal against Bel Air High School, according to charging documents.

Reddish was released from the Harford County Detention Center in September on a $50,000 bond, according to court records.

His jury trial is currently set for 9:30 a.m. March 8 in circuit court.
