I-95 Near Bel Air Reopens after Rollover

A vehicle overturned, State Highway Administration reported.

All lanes of Interstate 95 north near Bel Air were closed for more than an hour Friday morning due to a single-vehicle collision, transportation officials said.

The crash north of MD Route 24 was reported at 9:17 a.m., according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team.

A vehicle overturned, according to the State Highway Administration, which reported there was a fuel spill as well.

One person experienced minor injuries as a result, according to first responders. The 48-year-old woman was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview in stable condition, according to Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

At 10:50 a.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported two left lanes had reopened while the right lane remained closed for crash cleanup.

Hazardous materials personnel were called, according to Abingdon Fire Company, which responded to the scene north of the Abingdon Road overpass.

Travelers on I-95 experienced delays of 2.5 miles after 10:30 a.m., according to the transportation authority, which recommended US Route 40 and MD Route 7 as alternate routes.
