Crews Extinguish Fire in Jarrettsville Garage Engulfed in Flames

The fire was reported before 2 p.m. Thursday.

No one was injured in a garage fire in Jarrettsville that spread to the adjacent home and resulted in partial closure of Madonna Road Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.

Crews responded to a garage fire in the 4100 block of Madonna Road, where firefighters found the structure engulfed in flames, according to Harford County Fire & EMS spokesman Rich Gardiner.

The fire spread to the home attached to the garage, according to Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company.

Firefighters from Jarrettsville, FallstonBel AirNorrisvilleWhitefordHereford and Jacksonville contained the blaze within 40 minutes, Gardiner said.

At 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Gardiner said that Madonna Road was closed between Cox and Lemon roads and would remain closed for approximately one hour.
