Crime: Holiday Driving Results

The Maryland State Police at the Bel Air Barrack supplied the information for the following incidents. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

 

Maryland State Police conducted a driving initiative targeting impaired drivers between Dec. 12 and Dec. 26.

Troopers with the Bel Air Barrack issued more than 1,000 citations and warnings. Troopers also made 19 alcohol and drug-related arrests during that time period.

Individuals charged who were either stopped in the Bel Air area, or live there, are included in the following roundup of recent arrests.

A Bel Air man was charged after a traffic stop on Maryland Route 1 South, south of Ruffs Mill Road in Bel Air: Craig Poorbaugh Jr., 21, of the 1400 block of Wooden Branch Court in Bel Air, was charged Dec. 24 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while under the influence of alcohol per se, driving while impaired by alcohol and throwing refuse on the highway.

A Fallston man was charged after a traffic stop on Baltimore Pike north of the Bel Air Auto Auction in Bel Air: Ronald Ziegler Jr., 23, of the 3100 block of Fallston Road in Fallston, was charged Dec. 24 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while under the influence of alcohol per se, driving while impaired by alcohol, driving faster than 60 miles per hour in a 45-mile per hour zone and negligent driving.

A Bel Air woman was charged after a traffic stop in the area of Vale Road and Maryland Route 24 in Bel Air: Sarah Agnes Meehan, 25, of the 1300 block of Henderson Court in Bel Air, was charged Dec. 24 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while under the influence of alcohol per se, driving while impaired by alcohol and failure to drive on right half of roadway when required.

A Joppa woman was charged after a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 924 south of Moores Mill Road in Bel Air: Alexandria Mercedes Smith, 23, of the 200 block of Spry Island Road in Joppa, was charged Dec. 25 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while under the influence of alcohol per se, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving and speeding.

A Bel Air woman was charged after a traffic stop on Baltimore Pike in the area of South Bond Street in Bel Air: Kirstin Leigh Testerman, 39, of the 100 block of E. Pennsylvania Ave. in Bel Air, was charged Dec. 23 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving and failure to display lighted lamps in unfavorable visibility conditions.
