Document: Witnesses Saw Accused Murderer with Ward, Identified Graham

A copy of charging documents filed for Donnell Graham, a suspect in Patrick Xavier Ward's murder.

Witnesses say they saw  murderer in the blind man's bedroom Friday night, according to Harford County District Court records.

That account is included in the charging documents for Donnell Graham, the 17-year-old Bel Air boy of the 200 block of Fairwood Road, who is accused of . After Graham was arrested, witnesses identified him as the alleged murderer.

Unidentified witnesses entered Ward's apartment in the 900 block of Redfield Road by climbing onto his balcony after they could not get in through the front door. Once inside, the witnesses told police they saw Graham "standing next to the victim in the victim's bedroom," according to charging documents.

Ward, , collapsed when the suspect fled the apartment. He was pronounced dead upon arrival to the .

A police K-9 unit led investigators from Ward's apartment to the front of Graham's apartment building, which are about a block apart, according to charging documents and a previous release from the . Police found "evidence relating to the crime" when they arrested Graham, according to the documents.

"After [Graham] was taken into custody, witnesses identified him" as Ward's attacker, according to court records. The documents also indicate a knife was used in the stabbing.

Graham has a bond review hearing scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Monday at the Harford County District Court.

Graham is charged with one count each of first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and using a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.
