Dumpster Fire off Redfield Road Was Arson, Fire Marshal Says

The blaze caused $4,000 in damage, the fire marshal reported.

A dumpster fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage Sunday night near The Seasons apartments in Bel Air is being investigated as arson, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported.

At 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, a resident of the apartment complex reported that there was a fire in the 900 block of Redfield Road, the report said.

Approximately 10 firefighters from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded and put out the dumpster fire within 10 minutes, according to the report.

Investigators determined the blaze started in the interior of the 20-yard-long construction dumpster and was incendiary in nature, meaning it was intentionally set, the report said.

The dumpster fire caused $4,000 in damage, according to the report, which stated Republic Services and The Seasons at Bel Air were the owners.
