UPDATE: (8:59 p.m.)—A Dundalk man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with the murder of Rodney Holmes Smith.
Victor Levi Colbert was taken into custody Tuesday at his home in the 100 block of Wade Avenue. The Harford County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police Warrant Apprehension Task Force executed the warrant.
Investigators believe Colbert is responsible for taking the life of of the 200 block of Baltimore Pike in Bel Air. Colbert was going through the intake process at the Harford County Detention Center around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Colbert is charged with second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault. He is being held at the detention center without bail. A bail hearing is set to take place Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. in his case.
Smith was found dead from apparent blunt force trauma inside his Bel Air apartment Sunday morning.
Bel Air Police are lead investigators in the case.
