Edgewood Townhouse Fire Causes $50,000 in Damages

The fire was reported just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

Crews Thursday morning put out a townhouse fire in Edgewood.

The fire was reported at 8:57 a.m. in the 1300 block of Harford Square Drive, according to a release from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

Crews from that station, Abingdon Fire Company, Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company and Aberdeen Proving Ground firefighters responded and put out the fire in the home's basement. No injuries were reported, and the home did not have working smoke detectors, according to the release. One man in the home was unharmed. Two adults were displaced.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating the fire, which caused $50,000 in damage.
