Edgewood Woman Charged in Stabbing

The Harford County Sheriff's Office said the fight was part of an ongoing dispute.

A 25-year-old Edgewood woman was charged with assault in connection with a stabbing Thursday night that injured several people, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Danielle Kirksey, of the 6200 block of Edgewood Road, was accused of wielding a knife during a fight in Edgewood that sent three women to area hospitals, according to report from the sheriff's office.

After 6 p.m. on Thursday, deputies said they responded to a fight reported in the 500 block of Candlewood Drive, where they found violence related to an ongoing dispute.

In the fight, police said Kirksey pulled out a knife and began swinging it, resulting in a laceration to the forehead of a 24-year-old from Candlewood Drive, who was treated at the scene by Joppa-Magnolia paramedics and taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Her injury was not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Two others—a 28-year-old from Topview Drive and a 42-year-old from Candlewood Drive—were taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the report.

Kirksey was charged with first- and second-degree assault as a result of the incident, according to the sheriff's office. She was being held at the Harford County Detention Center on $250,000 bond, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

Charges are pending against two other women who were taken to the southern precinct for questioning and later released, according to the sheriff's office.
