Emmorton Road Subway Robbed

Police confirmed a robbery took place on Emmorton Road Friday night.

Update (9:13 p.m.) — An armed robber got more than bargained for when employees of the Abingdon Subway gave chase after being robbed.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, the Subway in the 3400 block of Emmorton Road was robbed, a Maryland State Police dispatcher confirmed.

The person walked into the Subway, robbed the store then ran, according to Monica Worrell, public information officer with the .

The victims of the robbery ran after the robber who then turned and fired shots in their direction, Worrell said.

"No one was injured," Worrell said.

A canine unit and helicopter searched the area, but found nothing.

The robber was described only as wearing all black clothing.
