Abingdon Man Charged in Theft of $34K in Lottery Tickets

The man used a company credit card to make more than 200 purchases, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

An Abingdon man was charged in a theft scheme that involved using a company credit card to buy more than $34,000 worth of lottery tickets from a local convenience store, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

Frank Michael Figinski, 47, of the 2100 block of Kyle Green Road, was charged with theft and theft scheme between $10,000 and $100,000.

Representatives from Stella Maris Inc. notified the sheriff's office on March 6 that longtime employee Figinski had used a company-issued credit card more than 200 times at an Abingdon 7-Eleven to purchase lottery tickets, according to the report, which stated the purchases occurred between May 2012 and February 2013.

The estimated amount of the theft is $34,947, according to the sheriff's office. Figinski was charged on March 17.

A trial date is scheduled for May 19 in Harford County District Court, according to online court records.
