Fire at Joppa Tattoo Parlor Under Investigation

A van was seen fleeing from the scene, the fire marshal's office reported.

A fire at Exotic Ink in Joppa is being investigated as an apparent arson by the Maryland State Fire Marshal and the Harford County Sheriff's offices.

It appears someone set fire to the front door of the tattoo parlor Thursday night, broke a window on the second floor and attempted to pour an ignitable liquid inside, according to a report from the fire marshal's office.

A passerby discovered the fire in the 100 block of Philadelphia Road at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, the report said.

Ten firefighters from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company put the blaze out in less than one minute, according to the report.

A silver mini van was reportedly seen fleeing the scene.

The fire marshal said there was about $500 in structural damage.

Anyone with information may contact the fire marshal's Northeast Regional Office at 410-836-4844.
