Accident probably caused by someone going the speed limit...

My boss was the one trapped in the car. She was hit by someone who had crossed the center line. Praying for both her and the gentleman that hit her.

That is a very dangerous part of route 1. Way to many places to turn into or pull out of with everyone in a hurry. I honestly don't even know what the speed limit is. All I know is if you don't drive over 45 people about run you over and swerve around you like crazy. I don't know what the answer is, but more accidents are sure to follow.
Evets July 13, 2012 at 01:50 PM
The answer is for all drivers to drive responsibly and courteously. Put down the phone, expect other drivers to do the unexpected, and try not to take it personally if another car gets to the intersection before you.

That general vicinity is really having a lot of accidents. Folks need to slow down and watch the road.
Marco July 13, 2012 at 03:34 PM
If you are insinuating that a driver not speeding caused the accident that is ridiculous. Now if they were going so slow as to hinder the safe vehicle operation of other prudent drivers, you might have a point. Otherwise, its the willy-waving that both men and women do on that road that causes crashes.....that or they're stoned, drunk or just plain and simple have manure for brains.

Marco, I think Evets post is sarcasm leveled at another article on the Patch where a poster claims that people who drive the speed limit are a menace.
Evets July 13, 2012 at 05:21 PM
Yes, Marco, I was referring to a poster named Mike who has been posting in another article on Patch that drivers who adhere to the rules of the road are the real menace on the roads. Here is a link to that article if you want to read some of the inane comments from Mike: http://perryhall.patch.com/articles/five-new-speed-camera-sites-selected I do agree with the last sentence in your post, Marco.
Evets July 14, 2012 at 01:33 PM
Ms Garrett, I would say that is good advice on ALL roads. Also, drivers need to stay off the phone

I've tried to use my phone in the car, but dialing rotary while driving is difficult.
