UPDATE: Fallston Bank Robbed At Gunpoint

The BB&T Bank located on U.S. Route 1 was robbed late Monday morning.

UPDATE (5:14 p.m.)—A man wearing a hard hat and neon yellow safety vest robbed a Fallston bank at gunpoint late Monday morning and remained at large that evening, police say.

Around 11:02 a.m., police were called to the BB&T Bank, located at 1911 Bel Air Road in Fallston, after employees reported the bank had been robbed, a Maryland State Police trooper with the Bel Air Barrack said.

Shortly before 11 a.m. a man wearing a hard hat and a yellow and orange safety vest walked into the bank carrying a duffel bag, according to a release from state police.

The man showed a black “bull pub” style shotgun, demanded money and ordered the tellers and customers to floor, the release states. The armed man then stole an undisclosed amount of money from the teller’s drawers and coin vault, the release continues.

The robbery is described as an older, stocky, white man wearing faded jeans and a gray sweatshirt under the yellow and orange vest, state police said.

Troopers and Harford County sheriff's deputies searched the area with helicopter and police dogs, but the robber had not been aprehended as of 5:30 p.m. Monday.
