Fallston Fire Victim Identified; No Smoke Alarms Found

The Maryland State Fire Marshal is still investigating the incident.

The man who died in has been identified as 91-year-old Richard F. Weisheit, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

The blaze caused about $350,000 of  to Weisheit's home in the 1800 block of Creston Drive. About 60 firefighters from Baltimore and needed an hour to control the fire.

The fire marshal’s release stated that Weisheit .

The two-story wood frame structure caught fire around 9:50 a.m. that day with the incident originating in the basement kitchen, the release stated. No working smoke alarms were found after the fire.

The blaze is still under investigation.
