Fallston Morning Fire Under Investigation

A fire broke out in the 2500 block of Hess Road Monday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating an early morning fire at a home in Fallston.

Twenty firefighters from Fallston, Jarrettsville and volunteer fire companies responded to the 2500 block of Hess Road for a fire at a one-story rancher. The fire, which originated in mulch at the front of the home, caused an estimated $15,000 damage, according to a statement from the fire marshal.

There were no injuries in the fire, which was discovered by the residents at the home.

The cause of the fire was not determined as of noon Monday.
