Victim in Fatal 543 Motorcycle Crash Identified

Police have identified the motorcycle rider who died after Saturday night's two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Maryland Route 543 and Maryland Route 7 in Belcamp.

Louis Goodman, 47, of Abingdon, died after his 2007 Harley Davidson was in a collision with a 2008 Chrysler Sebring driven by Angela Gonzalez, 29, of Millers, at about 8:30 p.m.

According to a release from Maryland State Police, Gonzalez was driving south on Route 543 toward Route 7 and Gonzalez was making a left turn onto Route 7 from Route 543.

"Both vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection," the release stated. "Investigators are in the process of determining who had the right of way at the intersection when the collision occurred."

Goodman was taken to , where he was pronounced dead, according to the statement. Police said Saturday night that Goodman went into cardiac arrest as a result of the crash.

The road was closed until about 11:30 p.m. The accident is under investigation.
