Van Arson in Edgewood Under Investigation: Fire Marshal

The fire appeared to be set inside the van on the driver's side, the fire marshal reported.

Investigators are looking into a vehicle fire Sunday in Edgewood that resulted in more than $1,000 in damage, according to a statement from the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

A passerby discovered the 2004 Chrysler Town and Country van on fire in the 800 block of Windstream Way at 5:12 p.m. on Sunday, the Office of the State Fire Marshal said.

Six firefighters from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded and brought the blaze under control within 10 minutes, according to the fire marshal's report.

The blaze started in the driver's side of the vehicle and caused $1,500 in damage, the fire marshal said. It appeared to be intentionally set, the report said.
