Arson Reported Saturday Morning in Joppa

The Maryland State Fire Marshal is asking the public for info.

A passerby found a Coleman light tower that had been set on fire Saturday morning in Joppa, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

The blaze, reported at 1:34 a.m. on Saturday, was outside a home in the 500 block of Pulaski Highway in Joppa, the fire marshal said. It caused $2,000 in damage, according to the report.

Twenty firefighters from Joppa-Magnolia, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Kingsville and White Marsh responded, bringing the fire under control within 10 minutes, the report stated.

The fire was intentionally set, the fire marshal reported. Anyone with information may contact the Bel Air office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-836-4844.
