Forest Hill Arson Caused $15K in Vehicle Damage: Officials

The vehicle's owner discovered the blaze on Sunday.

A fire that was intentionally set Sunday morning caused $15,000 in damage to a Hyundai Elantra in Forest Hill, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The vehicle owner discovered the blaze in the 200 block of East Jarrettsville Road at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, the report said.

The fire started in the passenger compartment of the 2010 Hyundai Elantra, according to the report.

It took six firefighters approximately five minutes to put the fire out, the report stated. Maryland State Police and the Harford County Sheriff's Office also responded, the fire marshal said.

The fire was incendiary in nature, meaning it was intentionally set, according to the fire marshal.
