Forest Hill Teen Reported Missing

The young man told a friend he planned to run away to New York, according to the police report.

A 16-year-old Forest Hill teen was reported missing early this week after his father realized the teen was not where he was supposed to be.

Vincent DeMonte, of the 1400 block of Bowles Terrace in Forest Hill, contacted the Harford County Sheriff's Office Tuesday to report that his son had gone missing.

DeMonte said his 16-year-old son, Daniel DeMonte, said he was going to bed around 9:30 p.m. Monday night, according to the police report. When the elder DeMonte went to check on the teen, however, the young man was nowhere to be found.

Daniel DeMonte was a last seen wearing a yellow, tie-die T-shirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers. He took his guitar, a yellow back pack, a 26-inch television and possibly a cell phone with him, the report states.

The 16-year-old has a history of sneaking out of the house and ran away in 2011, according to the report. Police do not believe DeMonte is in critical or immediate danger, Monica Worrell, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said.

The teen is listed as a missing juvenile and police and his family are looking for information on his whereabouts.
