Armed Robbery, Slashing Attempt at Gabriel Brothers

Maryland State Police arrested two suspects Thursday afternoon.

A 39-year-old man and 19-year-old woman—both from Edgewood—were arrested Thursday for charges related to an alleged armed robbery of Gabriel Brothers in Abingdon.

The accusations stem from an incident around 3:25 p.m. in the 3400 block of Emmorton Road.

According to a release from Maryland State Police, Jerome Leon Quickley Jr. allegedly "attempted to slash the store manager" with a box cutter, but missed. Quickley was on his way out of the store with stolen clothing, according to police. Patricia Renae Graves is also accused of stealing clothing.

Troopers tracked the suspects by their vehicle registration plate information gathered by store employees. Police say the car belongs to Graves' relatives.
