Son Charged in Forest Hill Homicide, Harford Sheriff Says

A woman was found dead in her home Wednesday, and her son is charged with murder, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.

After a woman was killed in her Forest Hill home Wednesday evening, police have charged her son with murder and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Joy Ojiabo, 51, of the 1600 block of Rushing Stream Court, "suffered obvious injuries, including a stab wound," according to the sheriff's office, which said she was pronounced dead at the scene in her home.

Deputies responded to the Forest Hill residence after 5 p.m. when the victim's husband arrived home and found her dead in an upstairs room, according to the report.

Her 20-year-old son—Isaac Anya Ojiabo Jr.—was identified as a suspect, the sheriff's office said.

Officers located Ojiabo at Crouse and Putnam roads in Forest Hill in his white 2007 Lexus, the sheriff's office said. He was taken into custody without incident sometime between 4:15 and 5:15 a.m. Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.

Ojiabo was charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon, the sheriff's office reported, and was being held at the Harford County Detention Center awaiting an appearance before the commissioner.
