"The owners of the helicopter and the operator of the helicopter are stating that it did not crash, that it was already on the ground," Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS spokesman Dave Williams said. "There is a small, privately-owned helicopter here at the property where the owner keeps it. It’s right on the pad where he normally parks it."

Originally reported to the  as a "crash," Williams said the incident occurred while the chopper was on the ground and the pilot was "powering down."

Williams said the patient was "out walking around" before he was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital by the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company.

"There was a small fuel spill which was contained right there at the pad," Williams added. "No fire and no entrapment or extrication needed."

The Maryland State Police have turned the investigation over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
