1 Airlifted After I-95 Crash Near White Marsh

The crash shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 95 before 6 p.m. Saturday.

One person was seriously injured in a crash Saturday evening that snarled traffic on Interstate 95 near White Marsh, according to officials.

After 5:30 p.m., all northbound lanes on I-95 were closed just north of White Marsh due to a crash, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported on Twitter. As a result, officials said traffic was being detoured onto US Route 40.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company responded to the crash and said the highway was shut down at the Joppa Road overpass.

A Maryland State Police helicopter transported a seriously injured patient for medical attention, the fire company reported.

By 7:20 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority said all lanes were cleared.
