Jarrettsville Accident Claims 1 Life

One person died in a Sunday morning crash.

A 41-year-old Pennsylvania man is dead after an early Sunday accident in Jarrettsville.

Around 5 a.m., Donald Keith Vangosen of Fawn Grove was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier east on Maryland Route 23 when another driver crossed the double-yellow line and struck him head-on, according to Maryland State Police.

Charles Robert Creaney, 22, of Bel Air, was driving a 2007 Nissan Xterra west on Norrisville Road, east of Harford Creamery Road, when he crossed into the other lane and struck the Cavalier, according to police. The Chevrolet spun 90 degrees before coming to rest on a guardrail.

The Xterra continued east, hit a guardrail and stopped about 100 feet from the collision, police said.

Vangosen was pronounced dead upon arrival of emergency medical personnel.
