Red Cross Assisting 3 People After Jarrettsville House Fire: Officials

Due to fire apparatus and activity, drivers were asked to avoid the area.

Three people were displaced and a road was closed in Jarrettsville after a house fire Monday morning, according to Harford County emergency officials.

Firefighters responded to a home in the 3800 block of Federal Hill Road where there was heavy smoke showing before 8 a.m., the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association reported. By 9 a.m., the fire was under control, officials reported.

After 10:30 a.m., firefighters were conducting salvage and overhaul operations, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS officials.

The fire at the split-level home was across the street from the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company station.

There were no injuries, but the Red Cross was requested to assist three adults, according to the report.

Drivers should avoid MD Route 165/Federal Hill Road, which transportation officials report is closed between Nelson Mill Road and Crossgate Court.

The fire marshal was investigating the cause of the blaze.
