Kingsville Man Charged In Series of Burglaries

Police believe Joel Lee Knauer is responsible for a number of burglaries in and around Harford County

UPDATE (11:56 a.m.)—A Kingsville man was arrested this week in connection with a series of burglaries in Harford and Baltimore County.

Joel Lee Knauer, 35, of the 7000 block of Mount Vista Road in Kingsville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of first-degree burglary, six counts of lesser burglary charges and five related charges.

Knauer allegedly broke into several homes in Harford and Baltimore counties and "stole copious amounts of money and jewelry," according to a release from Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack.

When troopers tried to take Knauer into custody Wednesday at a Middle River residence, he allegedly tried to run from police, the release states.

Police recovered about 200 pieces of property during the investigation and returned those items to their respective rightful owners.

The investigation was a joint effort between detectives with the Bel Air barrack and Baltimore County Police Department.

As of Thursday, Knauer had only been formally charged with one burglary in Baltimore County. Police say he is responsible for breaking into a home on Sept. 25, in the 13400 block of Bottom Road in Hydes, according to Cpl. Cathy Batton, a police spokeswoman.

Hmm, are you the one who stole our jewelry 5/24/2012, including my grandmother's wedding band????
Leann October 25, 2012 at 10:21 PM
Did you steal from me the week of 7/23/12? Everything I ever wanted to leave my three precious children. All I have to say is, "what comes around, goes around! "

And put my 14 yr old dog in the closet? At least she was alive. Thank you for that.

How embarrassing is it that a 35 year old man feels the need to steal from others. I would be so ashamed to have him in my family or circle of friends. Loser! Suzanne + Leann-I would call the sheriff's department and ask them if there might be a connection. Sorry that this happened to both of you.
