Man Arrested Twice Over Weekend on Drug Charges, Auto Theft

William Oglesby was arrested separately in a Friday drug incident and Monday auto theft, according to sheriff's deputies.

An Aberdeen man was arrested twice over Memorial Day weekend on two separate incidents, one involving an auto theft in Bel Air, and the other involving drug possession in Dublin.

Harford County sheriff's deputies were called to the Queens Castle Mobile Home Park in Dublin around 5:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man possibly selling narcotics, according to a release. The sheriff's office had received similar calls before.

When deputies arrived, they saw a green Mercedes leaving and followed it. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as William Oglesby of the 400 block of South Law Street in Aberdeen. A police dog detected drugs, and a police search of the car and its route found a clear bag of a white powder and multiple pre-packaged bags near NBRS Financial Bank on Conowingo Road. A field test determined the substance could be crack cocaine, according to the release.

Oglesby, 28, was arrested on charges of drug possession, sale and manufacture, along with traffic violations. He then suffered a panic attack and vomited, but assured deputies he was fine and was taken to Harford County Detention Center. There, Oglesby vomited in his holding cell, where deputies found he had ingested medications and a "small quantity of heroin," the release states. He was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, treated and released.

The court commissioner set a $25,000 bond, which Oglesby posted, according to the release.

Deputies later responded at 9:49 p.m. Monday to the unit block of James Avenue in Bel Air to a call for a stolen vehicle. Minutes later, deputies saw a van matching the vehicle's description park in front of the Wawa in the 600 block of Hoagie Drive. Deputies saw a man get out of the van, and he was immediately detained and identified as Oglesby, according to the release.

When deputies attempted to put Oglesby under arrest, he tried to run, but was quickly apprehended. He is charged with motor vehicle theft and resisting arrest, and remains held on $15,000 bond, according to the release.
