Man Dies After Fall from Tree in Bel Air

Elkton resident Tommy Gray Kyger fell about 45 feet from a tree he was trimming Saturday morning.

Elkton resident Tommy Gray Kyger, 31, died Saturday afternoon of injuries he received after falling from a tree earlier in the day, according to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Kyger, an employee of Bane's Tree and Lawn Service, had been trimming trees in the 900 block of Holland Road around 11:30 a.m. when he fell about 45 feet to the ground, according to officials.

He received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died of his injuries shortly before 1 p.m., according to the statement.
