Man Riding Train Illegally Falls Off in Joppa: Harford Sheriff

The 18-year-old was in serious condition, Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported.

A teen was in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Bayview Sunday after falling from a train in Joppa, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

At 6:11 p.m. on Sunday, first responders were alerted to a pedestrian injured on the railroad tracks owned by CSX near Clayton Road in Joppa, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

The man was "unlawfully riding the train when he fell off..." the sheriff's office reported.

Firefighters and paramedics found the 18-year-old man on the side of the tracks between Clayton Road and Raspe Lane with traumatic injuries, the fire company reported, so they helped stabilize him.

Joppa-Magnolia paramedics a took the man to Bayview in serious but stable condition, according to the report.

Train traffic was stopped during the incident, according to Joppa-Magnolia.

This was the second train incident Harford County first responders were called to in the last 24 hours; a man was reportedly killed by a freight train around midnight in Aberdeen.
