Man Hit By Car In Bel Air

A man was injured after being hit by a car.

UPDATE (10:55 a.m. Saturday)—A 21-year-old man was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Friday after he was hit by a car near the Festival at Bel Air Shopping Center.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday, a van hit the man in the area of MD Route 24 and Bel Air South Parkway, according to , spokesman for .

The van was driven by a 35-year-old woman from Fallston, according to Worrell.

"The pedestrian did not cross in a crosswalk," Worrell said.

The young man was thrown onto the sidewalk and sustained "life-threatening" head injuries, Worrell said.

He was flown by medevac helicopter to shock trauma where he remained in critical condition shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday.
