Maryland State Police Arrest 8 in Traffic Crackdown

The Bel Air Barrack of Maryland State Police made arrests for drug possession and DUIs, among other charges. The following information was supplied by the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack. It does not indicate a conviction.

Six men and two women were arrested Friday as part of a criminal traffic enforcement initiative conducted by the Maryland State Police.

Four suspects were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance as a result of traffic stops: Rickey Recardo Jones, 36, of the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood; David Michael Elza, 23, of the 1600 block of Frenchtown Road in Perryville; Forman Lee Holloway Jr., 20, of Grempler Way in Edgewood; Jazmin Denise Kelley, 20, of the 1000 block of Crimson Tree Court in Edgewood.

Elza was also charged with driving under the influence while Jones was also charged with possession of paraphernalia and intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

Kelley had been charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license in Baltimore County on Wednesday.

Eugene Kwesi Shivers, 25, of Kerry Court in Aberdeen and Allen Leroy Walker II, 41, of Waverly Drive in Bel Air, were both arrested for open warrants.

Carrie Ann Mesher-Bettino, 36, of the 2000 block of Garden Drive in Forest Hill and Kurt Andrew Dunn, 20, of the 100 block of Seneca Shore Road in Perryville, were each arrested on a charge of DUI. Dunn was also charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of disorderly conduct, along with other traffic violations.

"Motorists who feel they can drive without regard for safety or use our highways to aid in committing criminal acts will eventually encounter a trooper," read a release from the state police.

Twenty troopers dispersed during the initiative—in addition to nine more that were regularly scheduled for that shift—stopped 95 vehicles and issued 53 citations and 86 warnings.
