Motorcycle Crash Hospitalizes Bel Air Pair

The single-vehicle incident occurred in Jarrettsville.

A pair of Bel Air residents was hospitalized Monday night after a motorcycle crash in Jarrettsville.

Raymond William Hicks, 59, of the 2700 block of Forge Road, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson east on West Jarrettsville Road when he crashed into a guardrail at about 7:10 p.m. Both he and Beverly Hicks, of the same residence, were thrown from the bike during the crash, which occurred near the intersection of Grafton Shop Road, according to an accident report.

Both were incapacitated and transferred to the University of Maryland Medical Center by separate Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company ambulances, the report stated.

There were no other vehicles involved in the incident. A small fence in the 1000 block of West Jarrettsville Road was damaged as a result of the crash, which took place at a curve in the road, according to the report.
