Murder Case Plea Hearing Delayed

Rakim Raid Muhammad was scheduled to appear before Circuit Court Judge Emory Plitt for a plea hearing this morning, but the hearing was delayed.

in a Bel Air murder case could be delayed until Thursday because of a jury trial in another jurisdiction.

, whose name also appears in court records as Rakin, was scheduled to be in for a plea hearing Wednesday morning.

The hearing was delayed, however, when Muhammad's lawyer, Mark VanBavel, was detained by another client's case.

Harford County Circuit Court Judge Emory Plitt informed those in the court room of the delay shortly after 10 a.m. and said the case could be delayed until this afternoon or tomorrow depending on how long the jury in the other case deliberates.
