UPDATE: 2 Injuries In Dublin Fire

Firefighters quickly contained the blaze.

UPDATE (3:03 p.m.)—Firefighters quickly contained a fire inside a one-story building in the Dublin area Thursday afternoon.

A firefighter and the homeowner were hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the blaze, according to fire officials.

Shortly before 1 p.m. firefighters were called to the 3000 block of Blue House Road in Dublin, said , spokesman for . When they arrived, firefighters could see flames coming from the building, Gardiner said.

First responders initially believed a person was trapped inside, but soon learned that was not the case, and fire personnel got the blaze under control within 15 minutes, Gardiner said.

The homeowner was taken to Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore for treatment of smoke inhalation.

A firefighter also sustained minor burns while combatting the blaze. He was transported to for treatment, Gardiner said.
