'Observant Citizens' Help Apprehend Abingdon Armed Robbery Suspect: Sheriff

The man was accused of holding up a 7-Eleven, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

Citizens helped deputies locate a man suspected of holding up an Abingdon 7-Eleven over the weekend, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office, which reported the suspect was apprehended "moments later."

At 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, deputies were called to the 7-Eleven in the 3900 block of Pulaski Highway for an armed robbery, according to the report from the sheriff's office.

A man had gone into the store, showed a handgun and demanded cash from the register, the report said.

An employee handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the man left, according to the report.

"Observant citizens that were in the area were able to provide deputies with
valuable information that led to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect, only moments later," the report from the sheriff's office said.

Charles C. Davis, 52, of the 1000 block of Agate Drive in Edgewood, was charged with armed robbery, theft less than $1,000 and use of a firearm in a felony crime, according to online court records.

According to the Harford County Sheriff's Office, Davis was being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center.
